Multi-platinum selling Manchester band elbow designed their ‘build a rocket boys!’ beer after a series of tastings at Robinsons Brewery in Stockport, a stone’s throw from elbow’s Manchester heartland.

Tasting Notes: Band members sampled a range of Robinsons’ ales to shortlist their preferred style of beer, taste and colour before deciding on a golden ale with a rich rounded body, smooth bitterness, subtle tang of malt and fruity aroma. elbow’s ale is a premium session bitter at 4.0% ABV, available in cask and bottle.

Hartleys XB 4.0

Robinsons purchased Hartleys Brewery, Ulverston on the 26th July 1982, adding 56 public houses to the existing Robinsons estate. Hartleys Brewery can be traced back to the middle of the 18th Century.

Tasting Notes: Rich rounded body, smooth bitterness and subtle tang of malt

Hatters 3.3

First brewed in 1892 the beer allowance draw to a close in 1990 due to new regulations, but continues to be one of Robinsons’ best selling ales.

Tasting Notes: Hatters is an excellent easy drinking light ale with a dry roasted nutty malt palate and a delicate Golding dry hop aroma. Finishing with a thirst Quenching balance of malt and hops.

Helles Lager Bier 4.6

Helles, (pronounced ‘Hell Es’) is a traditional German pale lager bier. It’s all about the brewing process… We begin with a specially selected premium lager yeast & a variety of classic Noble European hops & throw in some Perle for a little bittering, then the Tettnang & Hersbrucker hops to add character. During fermentation, we add some Saaz for an earthy & floral hint & finally the Mandarina Bavaria hop to give an extra subtle hint of lemon complexity to the taste & aroma.

Tasting Notes: Sweetness balanced with a light bitterness, delicately hopped, clear & light, it’s the epitome of a thirst-quenching lager bier.

Hop Gun 4.0

Hop Gun, a 4.0% ABV light amber ale will ‘take your breath away’. This beer, created using the Australian hop Galaxy, delivers a distinctive mix of passionfruit, peaches and orange citrus flavours with a hint of sweet caramel.

Old Stockport 3.5

Old Stockport, brewed since the late 19th Century, originally boasted the name ‘Ordinary Bitter’-perhaps unsurprisingly a name change in 1996 resulted in an increase in popularity!

Tasting Notes: Old Stockport is a classic light session bitter with a clean and refreshing palate, a good balance of malt, hop and citrus flavours with a short dry bitter sweet finish, and delicate goldings dry hop and fruity aroma.

Trooper Red 'N' Black Porter is the first dark beer in the Trooper ranks and a modern take on a recipe dating back centuries.

Tasting Notes: The red and black colour comes from the blend of chocolate and crystal malt which gives this full bodied beer a roasted malt and caramel backbone. The special Robinsons’ yeast provides hints of both liquorice and honey character to create a delicious warming brew.
