One of Arkell's and Swindon's newest pub opened its doors to the public on 15 November 2000. The Jovial Monk, at St Andrew's Ridge on the new Abbey Meads estate, is an all-new building and therefore includes all the amenities expected of a 21st Century pub.

Originally known as Arkell’s Best Bitter Beer. First brewed in 1910 and affectionately known as BBB or 3B by customers ever since. A copper coloured Ale with a pleasant fruity and malty nose. It has a lingering bittersweet flavour of balanced Maris Otter and crystal malt to give a nuttyness and traditional Fuggles and Golding hops for bitterness. Tasting Notes: Bittersweet with Long dry aftertaste
