Ladybower Inn

A venue in Hope Valley.

Welcome to The Ladybower Inn - Our traditional stone-built pub dates back to the 18th century when it served as a Coaching Inn. The building holds many secrets – it was once used as a morgue during a spate of local murders in the 1700s. Today it’s very safe and is a great resting place for visitors to this beautiful part of Derbyshire’s Peak District, with unrivalled views across the Ladybower Reservoir. Join us for delicious food, to lay your head or for a good pint of Batemans and you’ll feel right at home. We’re dog friendly too so feel free to bring your well-behaved pets.

Fourth-generation family brewing - Batemans has been brewing quality beer in Wainfleet since 1874. It’s still owned and run by the Bateman family, now in its fourth generation, and they use the same traditional craft brewing methods as their legendary great-grandfather, George Bateman.

The beer’s on us when you book direct - book your room on our website and we’ll treat you to a free Batemans beer. A few simple terms and conditions apply.

Batemans XB 3.7 Batemans Brewery

Classic amber, English pale ale crafted by the fusion of luscious English Golding and Challenger hops with crisp Lincolnshire pale and chocolate malts, slowly matured to create a grainy, quaffable beer

Tasting Notes:

Batemans XXXB (Triple XB) 4.8 Batemans Brewery

Perfectly blended, fruity tasting, classic English tawny pale ale.

Tasting Notes: Classic English tawny pale ale, brewed with pale, chocolate, crystal and wheat malts, blended with spicy Challenger, Styrian and Golding hops, to create a fruity beer with peppery aroma and fruity, biscuity flavour.

Yella Belly Gold 3.9 Batemans Brewery

Tasting Notes: A golden beer brewed with American Cascade and Chinook hops for a refreshing citrussy flavour and crisp, dry finish.

Neck Oil 4.3 Beavertown Brewery

Our all day, everyday, session drinking IPA. A blend of 7 American & Austrian hops, pineapple and orange citrus aroma, Passion fruit & grapefruit flavour with a refreshing, dry, crisp finish.

Tasting Notes:

Reliance Pale Ale 4.2 Brixton Bewery

A pale ale that raises a glass to the art deco arches of Reliance Arcade where local cobblers and tailors still practice their crafts with skill and precision. Premium English Maris Otter barley provides the clean, crisp backdrop to bright hop flavours. Reliance proves again that if you want the real deal, you have to make it by hand.

Tasting Notes: Pale Ale – Biscuity malts, pine aromas and citrus flavours. An easy drinking beer for all occasions.

Madrí Excepcional 4.6 Molson Coors

Full of flavour and aroma with a light golden colour. Crisp, clean and refreshing, Madri Excepcional has a smooth, well-rounded taste profile with a short, bitter finish.

Tasting Notes:

Birra Moretti 4.6 Heineken

The ultimate Italian lager since 1859, Birra Moretti’s special blend of high quality hops creates a smooth, full bodied beer with wholemeal bread top notes which are cut by a delicate citrus note.

Tasting Notes: It is a bottom fermented beer with a golden colour. This colouring is a result of the type of malt used in brewing. Its alcohol content is 4.6% alcohol by volume. It is not a strong beer and is therefore perfect for drinking at lunch, at dinner or for evenings out with friends

Carling 4.0 Coors Brewers Ltd

The masterful blend that balances depth of flavour with the thirst quenching refreshment of the UK’s no.1 lager

Tasting Notes:

Amstel 4.1 Heineken

Our classic, golden Amstel Beer, with its very distinctive and mildly bitter taste, has over the years become well known beyond the borders of its native country.

Tasting Notes:

Guinness Draught 4.2 Guinness

One of the world's best-loved beers, with sweet smelling aromas of coffee and malt, from the first velvety sip to the last, lingering drop, every deep-dark satisfying mouthful in between is pure beauty… pure Guinness.

Tasting Notes: Unmistakeably GUINNESS®, from the first velvet sip to the last, lingering drop and every deep-dark satisfying mouthful in between.

Inch's 4.5 Heineken

Inch's believe that cider making is about all the little things, that finishing touch of care or that extra moment of attention. Not going that extra mile, but going that extra Inch. Because when you add up all the little things you create a better tasting cider.
