Prince of Wales (Goffs Oak)

A child friendly pub serving food in Cheshunt.

A McMullen pub since 1874.

Despite having been burnt to the ground twice by 1902, the Prince of Wales still has roaring fires to greet you – albeit now with a few additional fire extinguishers!

Drink, dine and seriously relax – alfresco when weather permits – or inside by the fire. Groups are most welcome to book the private dining room.

You can also look forward to frequently changing specials, delightful meat cuts, glorious Sunday roasts, seasonal soups (Yum!) as well as wines specially selected by us for you, craft ales, world beers and the kind of coffee you just can’t make at home.

The team look forward to seeing you soon.

Advantage 4.4 Cottage Brewing Company - CLOSED

A traditional bitter

Tasting Notes:

Asahi 5.0 Asahi

Light straw color with a large foamy white head. The aroma has rice, grassy hops, and grain.

Tasting Notes: Clean and crisp with a restrained bitterness and a subtle citrus aroma, this light golden beer was Japan''''s first "dry" lager. Its deft, distinct dryness comes from a carefully concise fermentation period, a minimum four week maturation period and the traditional addition of a small amount of rice. Fresh and with plenty of balanced finesse, it''''s an ideal accompaniment to the well-defined flavours and textures found in sushi.

Becks 5.0 Becks

Every bottle of Becks is brewed according to the uncompromising German Reinheitsgebot (Purity law). With a strong and committed heritage, Becks has had only 6 brew masters throughout a 125 year history.

Tasting Notes: Our original Becks is a classic German lager beer with a distinctive full-bodied taste, fresh "hoppy" bouquet, golden colour and a full rich head. Adding to its complexity is a slightly fruity but firm crispness and a dry, clean finish.

Becks Blue Alcohol Free 0.0 Becks

Beck's Blue is a light, crisp and refreshing alternative with no compromise on taste. Beck’s Blue adheres to the strict Reinheitsgebot. Only when the distinctive Beck’s flavour has been allowed to fully develop is the alcohol removed.

Tasting Notes:

Budweiser 4.3 Budweiser

Budweiser is a medium-bodied, flavorful, crisp American-style lager. Brewed with the best barley malt and a blend of premium hop varieties, it is an icon of core American values like optimism and celebration.

Tasting Notes: Fresh and subtle fruit notes, a delicate malt sweetness and balanced bitterness for a clean, snappy finish. Budweiser is a medium-bodied, flavorful, crisp and pure beer with blended layers of premium American and European hop aromas, brewed for the perfect balance of flavor and refreshment.

Coors 4.0 Coors Brewers Ltd

The Coldest of the Cold!

Tasting Notes:

Foster's 3.7 Heineken

Foster's is the ultimate ice-cold refreshment. Its balance of subtle fruitiness and vanilla is ideal for the sweeter-toothed lager lover. The perfect session beer to enjoy with mates.

Tasting Notes: A light-coloured lager style, it presents full malt character with a balanced clean hop bitterness. Combined with a slightly hoppy, but yeasty/malty nose, Foster's lager is a full bodied beer with excellent drinkability.

Guinness Draught 4.2 Guinness

One of the world's best-loved beers, with sweet smelling aromas of coffee and malt, from the first velvety sip to the last, lingering drop, every deep-dark satisfying mouthful in between is pure beauty… pure Guinness.

Tasting Notes: Unmistakeably GUINNESS®, from the first velvet sip to the last, lingering drop and every deep-dark satisfying mouthful in between.

McMullen AK 3.7 McMullens - DO NOT USE

As one of the longest established ales in the UK, the quality of AK comes from 180 years of brewing experience at The Whole Hop Brewery

Tasting Notes: This award-winning bitter uses a carefully balanced mixture of pale ale and chocolate malts to give a soft malty taste, while WGV hops give a light fragrant aroma and clean finish. A popular and refreshing easy-drinking bitter.

McMullen Country Bitter 4.3 McMullens - DO NOT USE

The Head Brewer has combined the finest East Anglian Ale malted barley with a subtle blend of Crystal Malt and Caramalt with McMullen’s own pure spring water.

Tasting Notes: The addition of whole leaf Fuggle, Bramling Cross and Golding Hops at different stages of the brewing process gives a golden bitter with hints of citrus and spicy berries for a well balanced beer.

Screaming Reels 4.2 McMullens - DO NOT USE

Screaming Reels is a smooth brown beer made with a careful blend of Ale and Chocolate malts with a combination of English whole leaf aroma hops added at different stages of the brewing process.

Tasting Notes:

Bulmers 4.5 Heineken

Bulmers Original Cider at 4.5% ABV offers a fantastic combination of softer culinary apples and sharper bittersweet apples, providing a cider rich in depth and character.

Tasting Notes: Well-balanced and medium-sweet

Kopparberg Elderflower & Lime 4.0 Kopparberg

With a light and floral taste and the extra zing from a hefty squeeze of lime, Kopparberg Elderflower & Lime Cider is a secret worth discovering. Pour over chunks of ice and enjoy with a thin slice of cucumber…or strawberry for that sweeter taste.

Tasting Notes:

Kopparberg Mixed Fruit 4.0 Kopparberg

Bursting with blackcurrants and raspberries, Kopparberg Mixed Fruit Cider spoils you

Tasting Notes: Rich and indulgent with an effervescent energy, its best served cold over mountains of ice.

Kopparberg Pear 4.5 Kopparberg

The juices of plump pears are infused with our naturally occurring soft water, to create the perfect combination of a refreshingly light and fruity cider

Tasting Notes: With the punch of a strong pear taste. Kopparberg Pear Cider is deliciously thirst quenching and full of life.

Kopparberg Strawberry & Lime 4.0 Kopparberg

Kopparberg Strawberry & Lime Cider is perfect for Summer BBQs. Drink it over ice and the job’s done.

Tasting Notes: Like summer in a glass; a splash of fresh strawberries in apple juice, and a squeeze of tangy lime.

Strongbow 4.5 Heineken

Strongbow gets its distinctive flavour and cut-through refreshment through the unique blends of bittersweet British cider apples from our Herefordshire orchards.

Tasting Notes: The cider is made from a blend of bittersweet cider and culinary apples making it a well-rounded, balanced cider with a good mix of fresh apples and cidery flavour
