The Black Dog situated in the picturesque village of Belmont, first opened in 1825 and was previously a farmhouse. It is believed, in the 1700's, part of the bar area was used as a village courthouse. The pub is now known for its warm and quaint atmosphere. Its homely feel with open-hearth log fires has become very popular with hikers and cyclists who regularly make the Black Dog their port of call.
In 2010, the pub underwent an extensive refurbishment and now offers what we believe to be the finest dining experience available in the area. Careful attention was given to retain the original characteristics of the building but still providing a contemporary feel inside.
The Black Dog caters for all types of functions and parties.
