Autumn Blaze 4.4

A russet amber ale with a gentle, spicy hop character and subtly maltiness. English and German hops mix with dark and pale crystal malts and caramalt.

Tasting Notes: Gentle malt nose, flavour is a nice mix of toffee, tea and soft citric bitterness.

Autumn Red 4.4

A spicy red ale with fruity undertones. A taste with hints of caramel and roasted malts, a floral aroma from the Willamette hops and a clean lasting bitterness to finish

Tasting Notes: 

Black Eel 5

Rooted in the traditional British IPA style. It is brewed and dry-hopped with British hops (East Kent Goldings and Fuggles) and blackened with Carafa Special No.3. This beer has a clean floral aroma with earthy and herbal undertones.

Champions Ale 4.7

This red rye IPA has a full American hop aroma, leading to a full, complex flavour, with a sweet malt edge, plus its late hopping providing a surge of hop notes to balance.

Daisy Cutter 6.1

A strong, well-hopped ale. Powerful golden coloured beer with a fruity, citrus nose and flavour.

A veritable Hop Bomb, with over a kilo of hops per brewers barrel, it avoids being too bitter with a skillful blend of American hops, making this a beer to be reckoned with. Handle with caution. Silver Medals at Reading Beer Festival 2007 and Peterborough Beer Festival 2006, as well as at SIBA SE Competition 2008 & 2009.

Four Grain 4.5

Brewed with four malts: barley, wheat, rye and oats, and hopped with Pioneer. This beer has a spicy, almost herbal aroma and a medium moreish body. A hoppy taste with malty underpinnings, and not at all grainy.

Tasting Notes: 

Gothick Dark 4.6

A strong, dark mild brewed using pale crystal and two types of chocolate malt. Full-bodied and malty but with a dryish, chocolatey edge. Inspired by Strawberry Hill House, the “Little Gothick Castle”, not so far from the brewery.

Grandstand Bitter 3.8

A well-hopped and well balanced, brownish amber refreshing session beer. Refreshing, with light citrus hoppy notes and a fresh clean finish. The one beer to have when you’re having more than one

Hill 60 8

A blend of dark ale, aged for two years in wood, and a fresh strong mild. A very complex beer with almost Madeira-like flavour, with treacle, malt and tannic notes and a fruity finish and refreshing sourness.

Honey Dark 4.8

Brewed with dark malts and second fermented with honey, this strong dark beer has chocolate, coffee, caramel and (of course) honey featuring in its aroma and flavour

Very pale, very hoppy beer with an excellent flavour. Extra pale ale malt and wheat malt combine with aromatic, flavourful hops to make a very refreshing, quaffable pint.

London Gold 4.9

Big hoppy flavour and nose with juicy malt underpinnings; long pleasing dry hoppy finish. With four American and two British hops battling it out, it’s like the Normandy invasion on your tongue.

This black beer has been brewed using Patent malt - an old London style dating from 1817. This is a classic porter, with rich chocolate and coffee notes.

Naked Ladies 4.4

Outstanding hoppy beer using Pilgrim, Celeia and Chinook hops for full- flavoured satisfaction. Good body and luscious aroma. Inspired by the statues of water nymphs in York House gardens in Twickenham, known locally as the “Naked Ladies”.

Old Ale 9.5

This Old Ale, brewed in collaboration with Alvinne brewery, has had two years in Bourgogne wine barrels.

Old Brown is a style originating in Flanders and this beer was brewed in collaboration with Flemish breweries Struise and Alvinne.

Pale Beauty 4.7

Clear pale wheat ale in the English tradition. Robustly hopped with aromatic varieties, it is extremely refreshing and dangerously drinkable. Wheat accounts for 40% of the malt grist.

Red Head 4.1

Roasted barley, along with a blend of pale/dark crystal malts and caramalt give this red hued beer a soft maltiness with roasted notes, whilst the English/ German hop mix gives it a spicy hop character.

It takes seven malts to create this glorious beer. A red ale, with beautiful malt blend, enhanced with Southern hemisphere hops for an addition of light citrus and floral hop notes.

A very limited edition stout, flavoured with whole soured cherries and organic Equadorian cacao nibs.

Small Batch Stout Treacle 4.7

A very limited edition, treacle stout, flavoured with molasses for a deep strong sweet edge. Black colour with a a molasses and malty aroma and flavour.

Small Batch Stout Vanilla 4.7

A limited edition stout, infused with vanilla pods and oak bourbon barrel chips that have been further soaked in bourbon. This results in a dark brown colour and vanilla and bourbon flavours and aroma.

Smilers Ale 4.8

Amber ale with a refreshing citrus and pine aroma. Dry, hoppy flavour with a slight fruitiness underneath. Long, pleasing hoppy finish with a touch of orange peel

So named as a mistake by our maltsters meant the wrong malt going into a beer, which led us to blend two beers.

Summer Down Under 3.9

Using the Galaxy and Pacific Jade hops from Australia and New Zealand this beer is brewed in honour of our Southern Friends. To off-set the dark nights this light golden ale, bursting with citrusy flavours, is a perfect break from the Winter Gloom.

Summer Fun 4.4

AVAILABLE JUNE TO AUGUST Very pale, very hoppy beer which is the Essence of Summer. Extra pale ale and wheat malts combine with the aromatic Citra and Delta hops to make a very bright and refreshing pint for a warm summer’s day.

Hoppy golden ale. A wonderful golden, flavourful ale with a refreshing, hoppy bite and delicate citrus aroma with possibly a touch of tangerine. The hop varieties Citra and Amarillo feature prominently in this beer

A crisp and hoppy session bitter. Amber malt provides a pleasant biscuity edge to this pale golden-coloured ale. A blend of English and American hops add a wonderfully floral and citrus-like, long dry finish.

Mid/Dark brown in colour. Hopped with First Gold, for hints of marmalade and spice. Combination of roasted barley and dark crystal give this spicy beer a full body with roasted flavours. A perfect drink for the colder days and longer nights.

This luscious dark brown ale, with ruby hues, uses dark crystal malt, chocolate malt, oat malt and roasted barley in the grist, whilst English hops balance out the sweetish finish

Yakima Valley ABA 4.8

Named after the area where most American hops grow. A mahogany American Brown Ale with a surprising citrus hit. This beer has a glorious darker shade, and will catch you out with Simcoe and Citra aroma hops.
