Cock Hotel

A pub serving food in Milton Keynes.

This historic 15th century coaching inn, recently refurbished, is set in the picturesque market town of Stony Stratford. The Cock Hotel rose to national importance as the official staging post for the famous Manchester Flier, which took a 25-minute stop at The Cock for dinner. Other travellers staying at the hotel and The Bull opposite vied with each other in the telling of outrageous ‘tales of the road’, from which the famous phrase ‘cock and bull story’ derives.
