The Castle

A bar serving food with Sky TV in Macclesfield.

The Castle Inn is a pub almsot stuck in a time warp. Think back to a time of horse drawn carriages, steam trains and sepia photographs; men in stove pipe hats riding penny farthings. Step through the door at The Castle and you are stepping back in time. From the concave leaded windows, the unique curved glass display by the small servery, the cosy snug with low ceiling to the tiny tap room with its high bar and gas light this is truly a pub from a by-gone era.

Dating from the late 18th to early 19th century The Castle retains many origional features. Look out for the old gas lamp in the tap room, the bell pushes set into the furnature and a key reputed to be one of the origionals from the lon lost Macclesfield Castle. Each room has a unique atmosphere, decorated with reminders of time gone by.

The interior of The Castle is so notable that it is the only pub in Macclesfield to be listed in the Campaign for Real Ale's registry of heritage pub interiors.

Arbor Light 3.6 Whim Ales Ltd

An extremely clean session beer, lovely hop aroma. Satisfying clean sharp bitterness right the way through with a dry finish, but this beer has plenty of body.
