The Dog’s fascinating past is steeped in the history of the quaint village of Over Peover. A typical heart of the village inn, The Dog was born in 1860 when Baronet Thomas Westenhall decided to unite the grocer’s shop, a shoemaker’s and a small farmstead, and create a public house for villagers.
