Opened March 2014, The Old Dancer is a sister bar of The Treacle Tap in Macclesfield, and The Young Pretender in Congleton. Everyone at all three bars is passionate about beer. The current count has 7 BII qualified cellar managers on the staff! We have 10 keg fonts of European / craft beers, and 5 continually rotating handpulls on the bar, as well as real cider on draft and fridges rammed with bottled beers from all over the world.
You know what they say about real ale... it takes a lot of effort to get it right, so if a bar takes this much effort over its ale, the chances are it will put a lot of effort into everything else... and we do.
Our kitchens provide quality food all day - from sandwiches and snacks, through meat and cheese platters, to hearty, locally-made award winning (Great North Pie Co) pie meals.
We also are busy hosting all manner of events - live music, chess clubs, films nights, quizzes, and soon other events like 'Meet The Brewer' evenings ~ check out our 'events' page for details. Most of these are free entry and newcomers are always welcome, as are ideas for new groups.
