The Kings Arms

A child friendly pub serving food and a garden in Bideford.

The Kings Arms in Bideford offers a warm welcome to the town's oldest and most traditional pub - the only remaining 'Inn on the Quay'.

The Kings Arms was built in the mid 1500's as a public house and Inn.
The building remains unaltered although certain internal partitions have been removed.
Many of the wooden beams are the originals from some 500 years ago.

The end of the Quay which is home to The Kings Arms was once a continuous parade of public houses and inns.

The Kings Arms is now the only remaining 'Inn on the Quay'

Foster's 3.7 Heineken

Foster's is the ultimate ice-cold refreshment. Its balance of subtle fruitiness and vanilla is ideal for the sweeter-toothed lager lover. The perfect session beer to enjoy with mates.

Tasting Notes: A light-coloured lager style, it presents full malt character with a balanced clean hop bitterness. Combined with a slightly hoppy, but yeasty/malty nose, Foster's lager is a full bodied beer with excellent drinkability.

Guinness Draught 4.2 Diageo

Rich and creamy. Distinctive, Ruby Red colour. Velvety in its finish. This iconic beer was developed in 1959 and launched as a celebration of the 200 years anniversary of Arthur Guinness signing his 9,000-year lease.

Tasting Notes: Aroma: Sweet smelling with a coffee and malty nose
Flavour: Perfect balance of bitter and sweet with malt and roast characters Palate: Smooth, creamy and balanced

John Smiths Extra Smooth 3.6 John Smith's Brewery

John Smith’s Extra Smooth was launched in 1993 and is now the nation's number 1 ale.

Tasting Notes: The boffins say it has a distinct cereal character, with malty, caramel notes being complemented by some fruitiness. But we just think it’s a right good pint.

Sharp's Doom Bar Amber Ale 4.0 Sharp's Brewery Ltd

Doom Bar is a perfectly balanced beer combining subtle yet complex flavours, Doom Bar is both satisfying and deliciously moreish.

Tasting Notes: “The aroma of Doom Bar combines an accomplished balance of spicy resinous hop, inviting sweet malt and delicate roasted notes. The mouth feel is a perfectly balanced and complex blend of succulent dried fruit, lightly roasted malty notes and a subtle yet assertive bitterness. The bitterness remains into the finish with dry fruity notes which implore the drinker to go back for more.” Stuart Howe, Head Brewer.
