There has been an inn on this site since the 13th century, which later became known as the Greyhound Inn. It is said to have got its name in Tudor times, when the silver greyhound was the badge of the royal messenger.

In 1851, The Greyhound was billed as 'Commercial Inn, Greyhound Corn Exchange, Excise Office'. In 1910, the words 'The Greyhound Hotel' appeared on the exterior of the building, then owned by Walter Trump. It is possible that it was also called The Black Greyhound, at one time, presumably because there was a 'White Greyhound' next to The Bull Hotel.

The mouth feel is a perfectly balanced and complex blend of succulent dried fruit, lightly roasted malty notes and a subtle yet assertive bitterness. As a permanent beer Stone Faced is available throughout the year, a traditional amber bitter. Tasting Notes: Pale and Dark Crystal Maris Otter malts unite to embrace a motherland of chewy toffee while fruits and berry flavours rush in. Styrian Goldings from the East and Nugget Hops from the West are allied in perfect harmony as pine and citrus hop flavours caress the taste buds.
