he Rising Sun is situated in the heart of Derbyshire, with breath-taking views; our prime location makes us a hotspot for visitors to the Peak District. We are in walking distance from the High Peak Trail which is popular with walkers, and Black Rocks which is a local attraction.
At the Rising Sun we are passionate about serving great homemade food, and we use local suppliers for our meat, fruit, vegetables and dairy products. We also have a range of real ale available; we have recently been Cask Marque accredited for our Real Ale.
We are child and dog friendly and always have a bowl of water available for you four legged friends.
We have now re-opened following our refit and the differences to The Rising Sun are plainly visible to see. The designer has done a great job keeping a country pub feel and the beer garden to the rear with the new children's play area makes a huge difference. We now have a wider lager and Real Ale selection including a selection of local ale. Both our chefs have stayed with us so our food quality is just as good as ever. The Rising Sun was originally built as a farm house and barn in the early 1700’s and it wasn’t until the twentieth century that it became exclusively a public house, there is a children’s play area around the side of the pub as well as boules courts and you can regularly see our cup winning teams in action on a Sunday night.
So come along to The Rising Sun and enjoy homemade traditional pub food, ales, wines, spirits in a warm relaxing atmosphere.
