Fighting Cocks

A pub serving food in Gosport.

We are a beautiful traditional pub situated close to the picturesque village of Alverstoke. We are within easy walking distance of Haslar Marina and the superb Stokes Bay. Yachtsmen from all over the world join locals in sampling our real ales and exceptional home cooked bar meals, many enjoying alfresco in our award winning garden.
The pub has previously won the Gold Award in the Gosport in Bloom competition for its marvelous floral displays. The large garden is one of the last remaining in Gosport to welcome both children and dogs whilst adults can take full advantage of music nights and darts etc

6X 4.1 Wadworth Brewery

6X is our iconic ale, brewed for over 90 years with a national following of drinkers always seeking it out; it’s a beacon on the bar for many ale drinkers. 6X is the classic premium ale that has made Wadworth famous.

Tasting Notes: This hand crafted ale is a timeless amber-hued beer distinctively full bodied and eminently drinkable. The nose is malty and fruity with a balancing hoppy note. The delicious malt and fruit character emerge even more intensely on the palate with a long lingering malty finish.

Horizon 4.0 Wadworth Brewery

Wadworth’s own pale golden ale with citrus and hop aromas makes this an ideal choice especially when served cool. A great beer for those new to ale, it’s brewed with Pale Ale malt and four hop varieties.

Tasting Notes: This is an easy drinking yet full flavoured golden ale created using a blend of classic and New World hops. A great beer with food or savoured on its own. Its zesty citrus aromas overlay a heart of classic hoppiness. The zesty notes follow through on the palate backed with a light maltiness and the finish is crisp, tangy and refreshing.
