A fantastic dark single hopped dark ale with smooth malt flavours. As the beer develops in cask, so too does its flavour profile. A beer that should appeal to all who appreciate a quality pint of balanced dark real ale.
Tasting Notes:
Named after HMS Iron Duke which once served as the flagship of the Grand Fleet based in Scapa Flow. There’s six different hops in this beer giving an assertive bitterness.
We use all pale malt and lots of New Zealand hops to create this hoppy but still session-able low strength beer.
A very refreshing easy drinking Orkney Light Ale. Hopped with American and Polish hops early and late in the copper.
Pale and golden in colour, Orkney Blast has fruity, spicy hops and a strong malt body with a finish that builds and builds. It doesn’t drink its strength so take care!
Orkney IPA is a British style India Pale Ale of old, heavily hopped to survive their journey to the colonies.
A dry hopped brown stout with a creamy tan head. Look out for smooth roasted malts, chocolate and liquorice on the palate. A perfect sneaky wee session stout.
This beer is a respectful Orcadian nod to the pale ales of America’s West Coast. Crystal malt gives the beer sweet body and US hops provide plenty of punchy, citrus flavours.
Three malts and five hops - from Britain, Germany and the US - make Scapa Special a classic pale ale.
