This wine shop with attached wine bar and lunch room, serving an extensive range of wines as well as "home-cooked" food, became famous as the daily haunt of newspaper Editors and Journalists. They still come, but are greatly outnumbered by Solicitors, Barristers and their clients. Rumpole of the Bailey immortalised it as "Pomeroys" and used it as his second home.
There is a discreet television (picture but no sound) - cricket, racing and tennis with a good glass of wine has proved to be a great success!
