Crown Inn

A pub serving food in Diss.

The Crown is a traditional country pub, lying in the heart of the beautiful rural village of Gissing in Norfolk, opposite the ancient round Saxon tower of the church of St Mary. Just five miles north of the historic market town of Diss, the Crown is well worth the drive through the narrow country lanes. The exterior of this 18th century pub exudes a welcoming feel: the sash window with hanging baskets and planters decorating the walls all collude to entice you through the front door. Inside, the beamed ceilings, open fireplaces and horse brasses remind you of the pub's long history. We have a good selection of beers, ciders, spirits, wines and fresh coffee, as well as a selection of children's soft drinks. All real ales are served from the taproom, straight from the barrel. We also have a Beer Festival every summer. The Gissing Crown is renowned for its food. You will find home cooked traditional pub classics, using only the finest of locally sourced produce, such as sizzling steaks, homemade pies, and fresh fish dishes. The homemade curries are so good, there is now a dedicated curry evening on the first Wednesday of each month. Why not come down and pay us a visit!
