Garry and Pamela Carter became landlords of the pub in November 2002. The pub is renowned for its friendly and welcoming atmosphere serving quality home-made food. The menu boasts a wide selection of dishes from traditional bar food to the finer chefs specials prepared in house by chef Stephen Howard using only top quality fresh meat from local butcher Hartley & Sons and fresh vegetables from local farmers and Dooleys of Easingwold. The Dawnay Arms has a good selection of hand pulled cask ales which are Cask Marque accredited and always include one from within a 25 mile radius under the LocAle scheme.
