A child and dog friendly pub serving food with Sky TV and WiFi in York.

Welcome to The Old White Swan
You will find The Old White Swan in Goodramgate York within a short stroll of York Minster, Parliament Square and Deangate - however you won't find another like it.

Step in to discover a traditional pub of unique character, revered for its eclectic range of real ales and its quality pub food, which are served, as they should be, with a generous measure of famous British hospitality.

The Old White Swan is a collection of buildings with a rather colourful history that dates from the 16th Century. We are one of York's oldest pubs and are said to be haunted. Buildings at the rear of our courtyard date to medieval times and in 1781, the world's tallest man, Mr O'Brian, was exhibited here at the pub. O'Brian stood 8 feet tall and the then landlord charged onlookers a shilling.

The Old White Swan is one of many rare gems in the Nicholson's collection of great British pubs, reputed for their distinctive buildings, intriguing history and vibrant atmosphere.
