The Pier Inn

A pub in Whitby.

The harbour town of Whitby started out as a whaling station and has been a popular tourist destination since Victorian times. It is well known for the imposing St Hilda's Abbey sitting high above the town and the Norman St Mary's church, with its graveyard used as the setting for part of Bram Stoker's Dracula.

Right on the edge of the North York Moors and with the famous Coast-to-Coast route beginning just a few miles away in the quaint fishing village of Robin Hood's Bay, we are perfectly located for walkers. After a tiring day exploring the Jurassic coast or North York Moors you can join us for a cool drink in our traditional inn, with delicious food served at lunchtimes and evenings at busy times.

Those looking for a more relaxing break may want to stroll through the Georgian streets to Pannet Park, Whitby museum and art gallery. The Pier Inn is just a short walk from the narrow cobbled streets of the old town with its shops selling Whitby jet and fresh seafood.

The Pier Inn is ready to welcome you to Whitby, with 7 cosy rooms and hearty breakfasts to set you up for whatever adventures you have in mind! We are on the harbour front by the Grade II listed pier, and our rooms have harbour views.
