The Red Lion

A dog friendly pub serving food in Bicester.

The Red Lion is a warm and inviting country pub set in the heart of the Oxfordshire countryside. We pride ourselves on having attained the highest qualities in pub dining without compromising the traditional village pub atmosphere.
You will enjoy traditional pub fayre washed down with one of our fine real ales. Our bar staff, will welcome you with open arms into a relaxed and informal environment where you can enjoy your meal or alternatively just quietly sip a pint.
We have two lovely dogs of our own and welcome well behaved dogs on a lead at lunchtimes during the week, but no dogs, even our own, are allowed in the pub after 7pm each night and Sunday lunchtime until after 4pm. There is our lovely walled garden for you to sit in with them in the summer evenings.

Drink % Brewery
Deuchars IPA 3.8 Caledonian Brewery

Distinctive and long on refreshment. Solid gold in colour, remarkably aromatic, hints of fresh citrus, distinctive light malt and fresh floral flavours, refreshing zesty citric hop, for a mouth-watering finish.

Tasting Notes: Distinctively radiant, deliciously refreshing, Deuchars is a fabulous balance of malt and hops. Discerning beer drinkers consider this to be the benchmark in quality cask beer and for those new to cask, it's the perfect introduction.

Guinness Original 4.2 Guinness

Swirling clouds tumble as the storm begins to calm.

Tasting Notes: Unmistakeably GUINNESS®, from the first velvet sip to the last, lingering drop. And every deep-dark satisfying mouthful in between.

Spitfire Amber 4.2 Shepherd Neame

The beer is named after the legendary Spitfire aeroplane designed by RJ Mitchell. The versatility of the aircraft and the courage of its pilots were essential to victory and were a key symbol of the spirit of that time.

Tasting Notes: An infusion of three Kentish hops adorns this beautifully balanced, blood-orange tinted British bitter with an acutely aromatic allure. Hints of marmalade, red grapes and pepper are thrust from a springboard of warm, mellow malts. The floating fruity finish signs off with a smidgen of spice and raspberry.
