The George & Dragon

A child and dog friendly pub serving food with WiFi and a garden in Stoke on Trent.

A Country Inn that serves excellent home cooked meals. Just 5 minutes out of Stone on the A34 heading towards Stoke-on-Trent, and 5 minutes away from the Wedgwood Centre at Barlaston. The George and Dragon was previously part of Meaford Hall estate, which dates from 1667. Meaford Hall was home of the Admiral John Jervis who became Earl St Vincent as a result of his victory over the Spanish Fleet at Cape St Vincent during the Napoleonic wars in 1797.

Pedigree 4.5 Marstons

Pedigree. Now with added personality. They haven’t changed the taste. Just how it looks. So welcome to the new-look Pedigree, or “P” as it was first known. Strange that, looking back.

Tasting Notes: Anyway, it has a fascinating aroma, with a palate of biscuit malt, spicy hops and light fruitiness. It was renamed in a staff competition back in George Peard’s day. He was the Head Brewer at the time – that’s him on the clip. Cheers George.
