The Scales dates back to the 1700's and was once a coaching inn for the city.In 1740 it was the first Freemasons lodge and they met here until 1813.Known as the Swan and Scales in the 19th century it was used as weighing rooms for horse races that was held in Lichfield.On 16th December 1993 it was proposed that the Scales would change its name to R.H Fletcher but due to public pressure the brewery had a change of heart and kept the name The Scales. All our staff are trained to the highest level and will be happy to serve you with any of our cask ales, lagers from around the world or hot and cold drinks. The Scales is the only bar in Lichfield to be open till 4am every weekend and the best entertainment bar in the city.?
