Babbity Bowster

A pub serving food in Glasgow.

As the original building was constructed in 1790 it seems fitting to have supplied the restored building with an 18th century Scottish name. the 'Babbity Bowster' was a dance at the time 'Babbity' being the 'bob' at the and Bowster being a bolster or large pillow. We will leave you to decide who may have performed a bobbing dance at the edge of the bed and for what reasons. somethings never change. The Babbity Bowster was created in 1985 from a roofless shell rescued from demolistion by the original and current owner, Fraser Laurie. The building dates from 1790 and is attributed to Robert Adam. Many accolades have been attributed over the years but perphaps it's the continuing direction and service that best sum it up......
