The Kings Head

A dog friendly pub serving food in Woodbridge.

Welcome to the King's Head, a 15th century pub situated on the historic Market Hill in the heart of Woodbridge. Serving a variety of Adnams Ales, during a visit to this busy town centre pub you will experience real beer, real food and a real welcome. All are welcome including dogs and well-behaved children.

Mike and Lucy Ball have been running the business since December 2006, along with their Labrador Sydney.

The King's Head offers an excellent classic pub menu with a wide variety including spicy BBQ chicken wings, devilled whitebait, Broadside battered cod and hand cut chips, slow roast brisket or pork in a bap. Just a taster from the delicious menu. Also available is the now famous 'Mutt's Menu' as a treat for your hungry dog after you have been for a walk along the river.

Brewed with East Anglian malted barley and First Gold hops, Broadside is a dark ruby red beer, rich in fruitcake aromas, almonds and conserved fruit. Broadside has been a firm favourite among Adnams beers for many years now. Originally brewed to commemorate the Battle of Sole Bay, fought over 300 years ago off the coast of Southwold, it’s since earned a special place in beer drinkers’ hearts.

Adnams Southwold Bitter 3.7 Adnams

Southwold Bitter is a beautiful copper-coloured beer, late and dry-hopped with Fuggles for a distinctive, lingering hoppiness. Brewed with the finest East Anglian Pale Ale malt barley, sourced locally to the brewery. We use Fuggles hops which we add late in the boil to preserve the herbal flavours of this traditional English hop. We add more Fuggles to each cask so that the flavour of the hops infuses into the beer. It’s a perfect 3.7% abv in cask and 4.1% abv in bottle and can.
