The Black Horse

A child and dog friendly pub serving food with WiFi and a garden in Kingston.

We have reinstated the pub’s original name The Black Horse established in 1893 when it was originally part of the auspices of Kingston upon Thames. The area was fundamentally agricultural with Norbiton common being enclosed under the 1808 Kingston enclosure act and the land allotted to primarily free hold dairy farmers. In the early 1800’s London Road was a fashionable area for commercial purposes yet still set amongst the fields of the countryside. The Black Horse became the hub of the area for farmers and the like.We have refurbished the pub into a contemporary yet cosy place. Only a 5-minute walk from Norbiton station it is the perfect spot for a relaxed drink or to enjoy a fab meal, meet up with friends or just while the day away in our beautiful spacious beer garden. On entering the pub, you will be greeted by a large open space with a raised dining area to the left, a games room with Foosball, dartboard and pinball machine to the right, some cosy nooks and niches for relaxing and a well-stocked spacious bar for drinking and eating. With weekly quiz nights, live music and bespoke events we aim to have fun and laughter in our pub. We want to be a reflection of the needs of our local community and welcome families, groups and individuals, catering for all.Respecting what has been as well as embracing the new, the Black Horse at Kingston offers fantastic food focusing on simple, good quality ingredients - doing the British classics well. We serve lunch and dinner Monday to Friday and all day Saturday and Sunday, as well as all day bar snacks. To compliment the food we have an excellent range of beers, hand selected wines and seasonal and fun cocktails.

We have 3 car spaces available for use - please contact us to reserve in advance

Tasting Notes: Rich, smooth and elegant on the palate, it draws to a clean, satisfying finish with beautifully balanced bitterness.

Sharp's Doom Bar Amber Ale 4.0 Sharp's Brewery Ltd

Doom Bar is a perfectly balanced beer combining subtle yet complex flavours, Doom Bar is both satisfying and deliciously moreish.

Tasting Notes: “The aroma of Doom Bar combines an accomplished balance of spicy resinous hop, inviting sweet malt and delicate roasted notes. The mouth feel is a perfectly balanced and complex blend of succulent dried fruit, lightly roasted malty notes and a subtle yet assertive bitterness.
