4-4-2 4.0 Shepherd Neame

Named 4-4-2 after the popular football formation, the beer also has its own special line-up – in the form of 10 different hop varieties included in the brew. These are Kent-grown Fuggles, Admiral, First Gold, Challenger, Cascade and East Kent Goldings; G

Tasting Notes:

Amber Ale 4.5 Shepherd Neame

A golden-brown ale with a fruity aroma and a full, malty palate, Amber Ale derives its unique signature from the special marriage of fruity, fragrant hops with Pale, Crystal and Brown malts, making it a classic beer to savour and enjoy.

Tasting Notes:

Bishops Finger 5.0 Shepherd Neame

Fashioned on a firm, fruity foundation of Crystal malt, this rich, ruby-coloured Kent classic belies its burly appearance with a complexity of flavour.

Tasting Notes: Mouth-filling fruit, prunes, plums and dried apricot spiked with palate-prickling pepper, cinnamon and a soft bitter blood-orange finish.

Canterbury Jack 3.5 Shepherd Neame

Rare is a beer more invigorating, uplifting or aromatic than this fresh New World pale ale brewed using Cascade and East Kent Goldings hops and ripe with summer fruit on a bed of bready malt.

Tasting Notes: Privileged palates should prepare for lime marmalade on toast, lychees, lemongrass and a bitter-sweetness akin to brown sugar-dusted grapefruit.

Early Bird 4.3 Shepherd Neame

A fabulously refreshing, bracing beer that hails early maturing Goldings hops in style.

Tasting Notes: Alive and open with a golden glint in its eye, it stirs up spring sensations of blossom, honey, freshly cut grass and plenty of pine on the nose. The gentle bitterness, soothed by an undercurrent of light biscuit malt, delivers a dry finish. Superb with salads and whitebait.

Goldings 4.1 Shepherd Neame

This dainty, well defined dark-blonde drop melds citrusy hops with the nutty, wholemeal character of crystal and pale malt. With ripe fruit, a hint of banana, mango and a tangy, fresh finish.

Tasting Notes: Nutty, citrus, fruity

India Pale Ale 6.1 Shepherd Neame

Hailing from the tradition of 18th Century IPAs, which relied on generous hopping to protect exports during arduous journeys, this modern incarnation retains the strength, body and strong hop character synonymous with this beer's provenance.

Tasting Notes: A glorious showcase of the distinct, heavily hopped beers for which Shepherd Neame is famed, India Pale Ale delivers potent bitterness, offset with generous amounts of pale ale malt to deliver a balanced, yet uncompromising brew."

Late Red 4.5 Shepherd Neame

This easy-drinking ale is crimson copper colour, with a myriad flavour of plum, prune and raisin, plus a touch of toffee and tropical fruit, leading to a peppery, resinous hop finish.

Tasting Notes: Plum, prunes, raisins, a touch of toffee and tropical fruit are just of the flavour flourishing beneath the crimson-copper coloured cloak of this eminently easy-drinking ale. A peppery, resinous hop finish - courtesy of Kent-grown Cascade hops - adds a spice to the nutty sweetness. Rather remarkable with a roast.

Mild 3.5 Shepherd Neame

The silky ebony hue of this beer leads to a complex aroma of dark chocolate, mocha coffee, vanilla and a smokiness reminiscent of autumn bonfires.

Tasting Notes: A smooth rich blend of dark chocolate and roasted coffee hits the palate complimented by subtle hoppy, fruit flavours. Velvety cocoa flavours linger on the palate, making Mild a darkly delicious gem of a beer.

Queen Court Harvest Ale 4.5 Shepherd Neame

Queen Court Harvest Ale is the Faversham Hop Festival Ale, an annual celebration of hops held during the first weekend of September, which will now be available from the end of August through September.

Tasting Notes: The ale is dry-hopped using fresh, green hops from the present year’s harvest.

Samuel Adams Blonde Ambition 4.5 Shepherd Neame

Brewed at Shepherd Neame’s Faversham brewery from a recipe devised in conjunction with the Boston Beer Company, it uses equal measures of US and UK hops.

Tasting Notes: The result is a summer pale ale with a delightful blend of grapefruit notes from the US Cascade hops and grassy earthiness from the Kent hops.

Spooks Ale 4.7 Shepherd Neame

Spooks Ale is a devilishly great beer.

Tasting Notes: It is characterised by a distinct, biscuity palate, derived from blending three traditional roasted barley malts in the mash. These complex, malty flavours are wonderfully balanced by a citrusy, hoppy bitterness and an aroma from an especially fruity hop which is added at four different stages during brewing.

Strong Pale Ale 5.6 Shepherd Neame

Historically this recipe was formulated with 100% pale malt and was bittered by the brewery’s signature East Kent Goldings hops

Tasting Notes: This results in a golden, brilliantly bright, hoppy ale which has risen Phoenix-like from the ashes of time for the modern drinker to enjoy.

Whitstable Bay Pale Ale 3.9 Shepherd Neame

Whitstable Bay Pale Ale is designed to suit all palates and offer a light, refreshing taste. The sweet maltiness balances perfectly with the fresh pine notes provided by the hops added late in the process, to offer a light-coloured, thirst-quenching ale.

Tasting Notes: Refreshing, pine, fresh
