The White Swan

A child and dog friendly pub serving food with Sky TV and WiFi and a garden in Halesworth.

There is a warm welcome at the White Swan, a fine 17th Century Public House on London Road, Halesworth. Standing opposite St Mary's Church and just a few steps from the Market Place, it is part of the historic centre of this Suffolk market town and is one of the oldest public houses of the town remaining in daily use.

Behind its 18th century carved wood porch two rooms are served by a central bar. Both public rooms of this Grade II listed building have a great atmosphere featuring heavily beamed ceilings and exposed timbers, boarded floors, open fireplaces and wooden settles. There is a pool table in the games room, while in the traditional lounge there is televised sport, dartboard, and plenty of room for live entertainment.

Our good selection of beers, spirits, lager and ciders includes Suffolk's Aspall Cider and Adnams bitter and guest ale. Various packaged snacks are available.

We have the advantage of a large rear car park and an excellent upstairs function room with its own bar and with capacity for 100 people. This is available for both day time and evening meetings, private parties, weddings and funerals.

6X 4.1 Wadworth Brewery

6X is our iconic ale, brewed for over 90 years with a national following of drinkers always seeking it out; it’s a beacon on the bar for many ale drinkers. 6X is the classic premium ale that has made Wadworth famous.

Tasting Notes: This hand crafted ale is a timeless amber-hued beer distinctively full bodied and eminently drinkable. The nose is malty and fruity with a balancing hoppy note. The delicious malt and fruit character emerge even more intensely on the palate with a long lingering malty finish.

Adnams Southwold Bitter 3.7 Adnams

Southwold Bitter is a beautiful copper-coloured beer, late and dry-hopped with Fuggles for a distinctive, lingering hoppiness. Brewed with the finest East Anglian Pale Ale malt barley, sourced locally to the brewery. We use Fuggles hops which we add late in the boil to preserve the herbal flavours of this traditional English hop. We add more Fuggles to each cask so that the flavour of the hops infuses into the beer. It’s a perfect 3.7% abv in cask and 4.1% abv in bottle and can.
