Anchor Inn

A pub in Chepstow.

Our bar was once a cider mill, attached to Tintern Abbey’s orchard. The original horse-drawn cider press is a central feature of the bar. With comfortable under floor heating, room for thirty six diners and a warm atmosphere, the bar is a great place to enjoy your Anchor experience.

We pride ourselves with presenting ales and beers from a variety of sources from within our local area. There is always a good range of cask ales, served from hand pumps.

Our regular range of ales includes the Wye Valley, Bath Ales and Otter Breweries, plus a number of small craft outlets. Our cask ales are endorsed by CAMRA and we appear in their Real Ale Guide.

As the bar was originally a cider mill, we naturally offer a range of locally and nationally branded ciders, both on tap and bottled. We have draught Stowford Press and for the real cider connoisseur, Old Rosie Scrumpy, both produced by Weston’s of Much Marcle, Herefordshire. There is also a range of locally produced cider by Severn Cider and Ty Gwyn, two of which are aptly named Naughty Horsey and Very Naughty Horsey!
