A child and dog friendly pub serving food with Sky TV and WiFi and a garden in Plymouth.

Welcome to the Boringdon Arms.

We are located in the picturesque waterside village of Turnchapel in Plymouth. We are a traditional, family friendly and dog friendly pub with six letting rooms. Please note dogs must be on leads at all times. We offer great value, home-cooked food and also have two secluded beer gardens to the rear of the property. There is also free WiFi throughout the premises. We are located on the South West Coastal Path and are the perfect place to stop off whilst walking or cycling through.

At the Boringdon Arms, we welcome loyal locals, along with visitors from further afield, serving a variety of beverages including 4 Real Ales with a weekly rotating Guest Ale. We also serve traditional Beer and Cider too. We have a wide range of 35 different Gins accompanied with 9 varieties of Fever-Tree Tonics, excellent for those wishing to experiment with a different taste.

We are delighted to announce that we will be re-opening on 12th April for Alfresco Dining & Drinking. B&B however, will remain closed until 17th May.

For the next 5 weeks our opening hours have slightly changed. We will be temporarily opening from 1PM - 9PM Monday - Thursday, 1PM - 10PM Friday's & Saturday's and 12PM - 9PM on Sunday's. Please note this is all weather dependent.

Our Food Service hours are as follows... 2PM - 7PM Monday - Thursday, 2PM - 8PM Friday's & Saturday's and 12PM - 4PM on Sunday's.

We will be operating on a first come first serve basis. Therefore no bookings will be taken for tables at this stage.

As before, social distancing measures will still be in place. You will be required, at all times, to wear a face mask unless sat at a table and only 6 people are allowed per table (Rule of 6) unless the group constitutes no more than 2 households.

Just a gentle reminder that it's table service only. Please order your food and drinks from your table.

London Pride 4.1

This tawny-coloured premium ale borrows sweet raisin, biscuit and dried-fruit notes from the Crystal malt, while fresh, piney herbs emanate from the hops. Rich, smooth and elegant on the palate, it draws to a clean, satisfying finish with beautifully balanced bitterness.

A full-bodied, deep golden brown beer with a well-rounded flavour and a rich Moorish aftertaste. This multiple award winning ale from Dartmoor Brewery, which at 1465ft is the highest brewery in the UK, is brewed within 800 metres of infamous Dartmoor Prison.

Sea Fury 5.0

An exceptional example of the Special bitter beer style, offering substance and depth of flavour without compromising balance and drinkability. An aroma of inviting roasted and dark berry notes gives way to a sumptuous malty taste, with hints of berry fruits. The name Sea Fury is inspired by the stormy Atlantic seas that crash into the rugged Cornish coast near Sharp’s Brewery.

Hobgoblin Ruby 4.5

Broadside 4.7

Broadside delivers a cannon of bold fruitcake flavours and a taste that’s endured for nearly 50 years. First launched in 1972 to mark the tercentenary of the Battle of Sole Bay, this dark ruby red beer has become a showcase for East Anglian malt, First Gold hops and the unique, fruity characteristics of Adnams house yeast. Broadside offers bold flavours and aromas of fruitcake, almonds, and that mouth-coating, conserved fruit richness you would expect to find in a strong ale. With its delicious, lingering Christmas cake characteristics, it is truly a beer to savour.

Bombardier Amber Beer is brewed using the finest British Hops and fresh mineral water from the Eagle Brewery Well. A fruity aroma and rich malty taste provide a crisp, mouth-watering beer. Trooper 4.7

TROOPER is a Premium British Beer inspired by Iron Maiden and handcrafted at Robinsons Brewery. Malt flavours and citric notes for a unique blend of Bobek, Goldings and Cascade hops give this deep golden ale a subtle hint of lemon. TROOPER takes its name from the Iron Maiden song which itself was inspired by the famous Charge of the Light Brigade. Exmoor Gold 4.5

Exmoor Gold is the colour of Chardonnay, sparkling in the glass and appealing to both ale drinkers and lager lovers. Gold not only looks good, but it also tastes great, with fresh and fruity flavours and a soft and comforting malty centre. The aroma is a blend of fresh grassy and floral hop and a subtly soft, caramel-tinged maltiness. The palate is a balance of gentle grainy maltiness and sprightly floral, citrusy fresh hop fruitiness. Ghost Ship 4.5

Ghost Ship is a ghostly pale ale which takes its inspiration from Adnams 600-year-old haunted pub, The Bell. Brewed with a selection of malts - Pale Ale, Rye Crystal and Cara. We use Citra, and a blend of other American hop varieties to create some great citrus flavours. Bronze Medal Winner at The International Brewing Awards, 2013.

Boondoggle 4.2

A deliciously fruity ale affectionately crafted to savour and satisfy. Boondoggle is an American term first coined in the 1920's. Boondoggle is a word meaning 'work of little value' which Ringwood have interpreted to mean 'Jolly' or 'any excuse for a pint'. A hoppy aroma with a citrus punch.

Ruby red premium beer. Sweet rum-like aroma, full fruit taste followed by an citrus orange finish.

Devon Dew 4.5

Honey yellow with a floral, clean malty aroma. Sweet lemon upfront with a long grapefruit finish, mildly hopped.

Plum Porter 4.9

Plum Porter is Titanic’s infamous, strong, dark porter that has re-defined the sector. By combining the sweetness of plums with the hoppy flavour of a porter we have bagged a winner. A well-rounded porter with fruity, sweet notes over a backdrop of hoppy flavour.

Lifesaver 4.8

Lifesaver is a deep chestnut coloured ale with a sweet chocolatey aroma. The use of torrefied wheat brings body and depth to the sweet malty ale.

Westward Ho! 4.1

Golden-amber coloured bitter. Light fruit, roast malt and a zesty finish. A gentle bitterness is balanced by roast malt flavours on the palate.

Tamar Best Bitter 4.3

Tradition chestnut coloured best bitter. Strong bitter-fruit taste with malt-roast backbone. Bitterness and fruit linger on the palate with roasted bitterness.

Dragon Pioneer IPA 4.8

A well balanced IPA using English Pioneer hops in the boil and Slovenian Dragon hops in the hop back. These complement the pale and lightly roasted malts, resulting in a very refreshing and drinkable pale ale.

Bass 4.4

Still brewed to an original recipe, Bass is brewed with two strains of yeast to produce a complex nutty, malty taste with subtle hop undertones. Draught Bass is a 4.4% ABV top ten cask conditioned and canned beer. It is brewed by Marston's in Burton upon Trent in Yorkshire squares. Using English hops and dry hopping, it is described as "a classic ale with a malty, fruity, nutty aroma and a complex, satisfying flavour".

Betty Stogs 4.0

Betty Stogs is an award-winning, copper-coloured bitter brewed since 1997 using Cornish water; whole-flower Celeia, Northdown and Aurora hops; malted barley and wheat; and Skinner’s unique yeast. This is an ale that has the strength of character to take on tasty dishes like stews, hard cheeses and meat-packed pasties.

Butty Bach 4.5

Butty Bach is a Welsh term meaning ‘little friend’ – and this charmingly smooth premium ale has certainly made more than a few friendships in its time. Its brewed using Maris Otter and Crystal malts together with locally grown Fuggles, Goldings and Bramling Cross hops. With such fine ingredients, no wonder it remains a firm favourite.

Proper Job is a powerfully authentic IPA, brewed with a blend of imported American hops. It is a real treat of a beer with a growing reputation and is loved by beer enthusiasts far and wide. Perhaps the forerunner of all modern IPAs in the UK! An award-winning modern IPA, packed full of citrus, pineapple and grapefruit resinous flavours with a fine crisp bitter finish.

The beer of South West sport: Tribute is shirt sponsor of Somerset CCC and Cornish Pirates Rugby Club, proud partner of Gloucestershire CCC and has close relationships with both Plymouth Argyle and Exeter City football clubs. Customers and publicans alike love Tribute. It's light, hoppy, zesty, easy to drink and consistently delicious. The zesty orange and grapefruit flavours are balanced with biscuit malt for this superb classic.
