The Brick Kilns Public House and Restaurant in Little Plumstead near Norwich is run by Paul and Mandy Anderson-Cowles. Built over 400 years ago, this character pub has a charming interior with a wealth of oak beams and real fires in winter. The popular restaurant serves traditional foods as well as fish dishes, grills and a 16 item award-winning vegetarian and vegan menu. Please see the Food and Drink page for copies of our menus. Daily Specials are also available from our blackboards such as Sunday Roast lunch for £8.75. Well kept real ales are served from the bar along with fine wines and freshly brewed coffee. Adnams Explorer 5 Adnams

The light refreshing beer of choice. Pale Ale malt is used to provide the biscuity backbone of this blonde beer but it''s the hops that give it its personality. We use two American hops, grown in the Yakima Valley in Washington. These hops, called Columbus and Chinook, add wonderful grapefruit flavours to the beer. The beer is light and refreshing, suffused with the aromas of grapefruit. The citrus attack will burst on your palate as the hops deliver their fruity bitterness.

Adnams Ghost Ship 4.5% 4.5 Adnams

This is a Pale Ale with a pithy bitterness and a malty backbone. Brewed with a selection of malts – Pale Ale, Rye Crystal and Cara – Adnams use Citra and a blend of other American hop varieties to create some great citrus flavours. Ghost Ship is inspired by one of Adnams’ most haunted pubs in one of the UK’s most haunted villages, the Bell at Walberswick. The shores of Walberswick are littered with eerie wrecks of smuggling ships from a bygone era

Tasting Notes: This is a Pale Ale with a pithy bitterness and a malty backbone. Brewed with a selection of malts – Pale Ale, Rye Crystal and Cara – Adnams use Citra and a blend of other American hop varieties to create some great citrus flavours

Adnams Southwold Bitter 3.7 Adnams

Southwold Bitter is a beautiful copper-coloured beer, late and dry-hopped with Fuggles for a distinctive, lingering hoppiness. Brewed with the finest East Anglian Pale Ale malt barley, sourced locally to the brewery. We use Fuggles hops which we add late in the boil to preserve the herbal flavours of this traditional English hop. We add more Fuggles to each cask so that the flavour of the hops infuses into the beer. It’s a perfect 3.7% abv in cask and 4.1% abv in bottle and can.

Doom Bar is a perfectly balanced beer combining subtle yet complex flavours, Doom Bar is both satisfying and deliciously moreish.

Tasting Notes: “The aroma of Doom Bar combines an accomplished balance of spicy resinous hop, inviting sweet malt and delicate roasted notes. The mouth feel is a perfectly balanced and complex blend of succulent dried fruit, lightly roasted malty notes and a subtle yet assertive bitterness. The bitterness remains into the finish with dry fruity notes which implore the drinker to go back for more.” Stuart Howe, Head Brewer.
