Chiltern Taps

A child friendly pub serving food with WiFi in High Wycombe.

This building (120-123 Oxford Road) was the long-time premises of Hull, Loosley and Pearce. The well-known company was established in 1860, by the carpenter and builder William Robert Loosley. The Illustrated Directory of High Wycombe, published in 1894, shows that the business had grown considerably. Messrs WR Loosley, Son and Pearce are described as 'builders, contractors, cabinet-makers, shop-fitters, furnishers and undertakers'. In 1904, the company merged with T&F Hull whose gents' outfitters was across the road. Building work was then phased out. The premises at 120-123 Oxford Road were rebuilt in 1930, where Hull, Loosley and Pearce then traded for a further sixty years.

Death or Glory 7.2 Tring Brewery Company Ltd

A rich, sweet barley wine with a heady, alcoholic nose and incredibly complex flavour profile. Brewed since 1994 by appointment to the Queens Royal Lancers. They’re tough enough to sink a few….are you?

Tasting Notes:

Sharp's Doom Bar Amber Ale 4.0 Sharp's Brewery Ltd

Doom Bar is a perfectly balanced beer combining subtle yet complex flavours, Doom Bar is both satisfying and deliciously moreish.

Tasting Notes: “The aroma of Doom Bar combines an accomplished balance of spicy resinous hop, inviting sweet malt and delicate roasted notes. The mouth feel is a perfectly balanced and complex blend of succulent dried fruit, lightly roasted malty notes and a subtle yet assertive bitterness. The bitterness remains into the finish with dry fruity notes which implore the drinker to go back for more.” Stuart Howe, Head Brewer.

Tribute 4.2 St Austell Brewery

Tribute is an easy drinking pale ale.

Tasting Notes: Fresh, Orange, Grapefruit The zesty orange and grapefruit flavours are balanced with biscuit malt. The beer of South West sport, Tribute has high profile shirt sponsorships with Somerset and Gloucester CCCs as well as close relationships with both Football League clubs Plymouth and Exeter City. Tribute is also the Official Beer of South West Rugby and supports many rugby teams in the region with shirt sponsorships, plus it is the main sponsor of the Cornwall RFU whose teams are the current County Champions and holders of the Bill Beaumont Cup. We were also thrilled in 2015 for Tribute to be the main sponsor of Bristol Balloon Fiesta and in 2016 Tribute will again be a high profile partner of this wonderful event. All told, there is plenty to look forward to for Tribute in the coming year.
