We take pride in our real ales, we have been awarded Camra Pub of the month award for May 2013 and Cask Mark awarded us with 20/20 for our real ales. We have 3 handpuls, 2 of which are guest ales and one is our regular popular ale, St Austell Tribute.
Jo and Andy offer a family and dog friendly pub, where nothing is too much trouble. We have a lovely big beer garden which is very popular during the summer months, a great traditional local country pub.
The Black Dog dates back to the Civil War and is a grade 2 listed building. Situated in our historical and beautiful market town of Newent.
We offer pool & darts and at present are hosts to 2 pool teams, 4 dart teams and a crib team. Jo, the land lady currently plays darts for Gloucestershire County dart squad of which The Black Dog is proud sponsors for.
