East Harling Sports & Social Club

A pub with Sky TV and a garden in East Harling.

EAST HARLING SPORTS & SOCIAL CLUB is situated on the outskirts of East Harling, a large village just off the A11 between Thetford and Attleborough in Norfolk.

The Club´s purpose is to support sporting, recreational and social activities in the village and surrounding areas. It has become the centre of the community, providing a venue for meetings and social events, and facilities for sport. It is very much a family orientated organisation.

Built as a self-help project with funds raised locally, the Club was opened by Keith Skipper in October 1983.

In 1994, with funding mainly through Greene King, the building was extended, effectively doubling its size. The design, by local Architect John Wojciechowski, won the Ian Howard Award in 1995.

The Club is run by a voluntary management committee and supporting team, and has a membership of around 400 adults plus a number of youth members.

There is a large, well stocked Bar. We are particularly proud of the quality and selection of our draught beers and lagers, which include four cask ales, two permanent and two regularly changing guests. We have achieved "Cask Marque " and "Oakademy of Excellence" accreditations. For the non-draught drinker, choose from our wide range of wines, spirits, bottled and soft drinks, tea, coffee or hot chocolate. Why not come down and pay us a visit!

Adnams Southwold Bitter 3.7 Adnams

Southwold Bitter is a beautiful copper-coloured beer, late and dry-hopped with Fuggles for a distinctive, lingering hoppiness. Brewed with the finest East Anglian Pale Ale malt barley, sourced locally to the brewery. We use Fuggles hops which we add late in the boil to preserve the herbal flavours of this traditional English hop. We add more Fuggles to each cask so that the flavour of the hops infuses into the beer. It’s a perfect 3.7% abv in cask and 4.1% abv in bottle and can.
