A country pub in the heart of Clavering, near Saffron Walden, Essex.

Our aim is to create a warm friendly atmosphere where our customers can enjoy well kept real ales, lagers and wines, and a large selection of spirits. Beer garden, open fire, child and dog friendly.

During the Covid-19 lockdown we offer a pre-order takeaway and delivery service for all our traditional pub food, and we will endeavour to continue to serve our community, especially the vulnerable and our NHS workers.

Ghost Ship 4.1 Adnams

Ghost Ship is inspired by one of Adnams’ most haunted pubs in one of the UK’s most haunted villages, the Bell at Walberswick.It's a Pale Ale with a pithy bitterness and a malty backbone.

Tasting Notes: This is a Pale Ale with a pithy bitterness and a malty backbone. Brewed with a selection of malts – Pale Ale, Rye Crystal and Cara – Adnams use Citra and a blend of other American hop varieties to create some great citrus flavours
