Hastings Arms

A pub serving food in Hastings.

An 18th century smuggling haunt, tucked away in the back streets, the Hastings Arms is a warm and welcoming retreat, with scrubbed pine tables and wooden floors and walls festooned with grand mirrors and fishing nets. We were voted Shepherd Neame tenanted pub of the year in 2011.

Bishops Finger 5.0 Shepherd Neame

Fashioned on a firm, fruity foundation of Crystal malt, this rich, ruby-coloured Kent classic belies its burly appearance with a complexity of flavour.

Tasting Notes: Mouth-filling fruit, prunes, plums and dried apricot spiked with palate-prickling pepper, cinnamon and a soft bitter blood-orange finish.

Goldings 4.1 Shepherd Neame

This dainty, well defined dark-blonde drop melds citrusy hops with the nutty, wholemeal character of crystal and pale malt. With ripe fruit, a hint of banana, mango and a tangy, fresh finish.

Tasting Notes: Nutty, citrus, fruity

Grandstand Bitter 3.8 Twickenham Fine Ales

A well-hopped and well balanced, brownish amber refreshing session beer. Refreshing, with light citrus hoppy notes and a fresh clean finish. The one beer to have when you’re having more than one

Tasting Notes:

Guinness Extra Cold 4.2 Guinness

Black as the night with a creamy tan head with a coffee and mild roasted aroma and flavour. Medium (light) bodied and a soft carbonation, a real mellow sweetness.

Tasting Notes:

Spitfire Amber 4.2 Shepherd Neame

The beer is named after the legendary Spitfire aeroplane designed by RJ Mitchell. The versatility of the aircraft and the courage of its pilots were essential to victory and were a key symbol of the spirit of that time.

Tasting Notes: An infusion of three Kentish hops adorns this beautifully balanced, blood-orange tinted British bitter with an acutely aromatic allure. Hints of marmalade, red grapes and pepper are thrust from a springboard of warm, mellow malts. The floating fruity finish signs off with a smidgen of spice and raspberry.

Thatchers Gold Cider 4.8 Thatchers Cider

Thatchers Gold tastes as good as it looks. Using the best of our traditional approach and modern techniques for a refreshing cider with a smooth appley taste and a bright sparkle.
