Kings Head

A child and dog friendly pub serving food with Sky TV in Cheddar.

The Kings Head is the oldest pub in the village of Cheddar, only a 10 minute walk from the famous Cheddar Caves and Gorge. The pub is just off of a National Trust walking route.
The main building is a 17th century inn with a thatched roof. Inside, you will see many traditional features such as real oak beams.
This pub manages to perfectly combine modern and traditional, with a roof covering the original outbuildings and barn to create an unusual yet relaxing indoor space that you won't find elsewhere. Other features of the Kings Head include an off road car park and large beer garden.

Drink % Brewery
Becks Vier 4.0 Becks

Launched in April 2006 for the UK market. Brewed in Bremen, but packaged in the UK. "The Vier brand, whose German name translates as "four", is being positioned at the top end of the standard lager sector.

Tasting Notes: Beck’s Vier is a 4% pilsner lager brewed with the same uncompromising approach to quality and authenticity as Beck’s. Imported from Bremen, Germany, Beck’s Vier is brewed with precision to the Reinheitsgebot purity law, which ensures that only four pure ingredients are ever involved. This unique blend of golden barley, Bavarian hops, pure glacier water and unique yeast gives Beck’s Vier its clean, crisp, full bodied taste and exceptional refreshment.

Butcombe Original 4.0 Butcombe Brewing Co.

The beer that changed everything. The first brew they perfected, the beer that made their name with its distinctive bitter, clean and refreshingly dry flavour.

Tasting Notes: Made with only the best Maris Otter malt blended with a variety of English hops, Butcombe Original is the classic session beer.

Foster's 3.7 Heineken

Foster's is the ultimate ice-cold refreshment. Its balance of subtle fruitiness and vanilla is ideal for the sweeter-toothed lager lover. The perfect session beer to enjoy with mates.

Tasting Notes: A light-coloured lager style, it presents full malt character with a balanced clean hop bitterness. Combined with a slightly hoppy, but yeasty/malty nose, Foster's lager is a full bodied beer with excellent drinkability.

Guinness Original 4.2 Guinness

Swirling clouds tumble as the storm begins to calm.

Tasting Notes: Unmistakeably GUINNESS®, from the first velvet sip to the last, lingering drop. And every deep-dark satisfying mouthful in between.

John Smiths Extra Smooth 3.6 John Smith's Brewery

John Smith’s Extra Smooth was launched in 1993 and is now the nation's number 1 ale.

Tasting Notes: The boffins say it has a distinct cereal character, with malty, caramel notes being complemented by some fruitiness. But we just think it’s a right good pint.

London Pride 4.1 Fuller's Brewery

In recent years its popularity has grown to the extent that it is now Britain’s leading premium ale: a welcome fixture in many pubs and off licences around the country, and now winning new friends abroad.

Tasting Notes: Rich, smooth and elegant on the palate, it draws to a clean, satisfying finish with beautifully balanced bitterness.

Otter Bitter 3.6 Otter Brewery

It is a beautifully light and fruity beer with good hoppy bitterness. It leaves a refreshing bitterness which prompts the next gulp.

Tasting Notes: The depth of colour in Otter Bitter’s golden brown liquid is reflective of its great condition. Fruit notes and well balanced malty flavours are tinged with a hint of bitterness to make Otter Bitter a Devon beer of distinction.

Stella 4.0% 4.0 Stella Artois

One of the world's best selling beers, here is a lighter version but still holding its classic flavor and still using the finest ingredients available

Tasting Notes:

Thatchers Gold Cider 4.8 Thatchers Cider

Thatchers Gold tastes as good as it looks. Using the best of our traditional approach and modern techniques for a refreshing cider with a smooth appley taste and a bright sparkle.
