Clown Juice 7.0

The public has spoken! We took to the socials and asked the public to choose a beer that they would love to see make a return – the result… CLOWN JUICE Originally brewed in 2012, this version has upped the tropical hoppiness and honed in on the juicy flavours, with a slight orangey spiciness on the tongue. Take a sip and taste the memories!. A decidedly light hearted take on a European classic.

Tasting Notes: An extra pale body and subtle bitterness set the tone letting the speciality Belgian yeast shine, while Curacao Orange and Coriander add fruity, spicy notes.

Common Grounds 5.4

A full-bodied, decadently smooth coffee beer in collaboration with local roaster Darkwoods. 7 different malts combine with 3 different coffees added at 2 different points during the brew to create a sweet toffee, rich fruit and chocolate depth, accented with notes of vanilla, and hazelnut. Brewed with coffee, cocoa nibs and vanilla, this beer is designed with texture, aroma and deliciousness in mind. Brewed to celebrate locality and a shared philosophy in creative quality.

Contortionist 5.0

A twist on that most refreshing of beer styles, a light golden base, kettle soured and then flavoured with traditional coriander.

Tasting Notes: A quenchingly citrus sour that’ll twist your tongue in knots.

Craftwerk 5.0

Craftwerk is a US/German style Pale Ale, using a UK Pale Malt/German specialty malt bill, Centennial whole hops in the hop back and then dry hopped with Hallertau Mittelfruh and Centennial in conditioning.

Tasting Notes: Fresh and easy to drink with a light body and herbal/citrus almost ginger beer hop flavour, perfect summer drinking.

Dark Arts 6.0

Dark Arts blends four malts and bags of English & German hops to deliver a decadently deep and indulgent experience.

Tasting Notes: A luxuriously smooth mouth feel, is followed by spicy hop notes and full flavours of chocolate, liquorice, blackberries and figs. The finish is rich and satisfying with a lingering roasted bitterness.

Fantasma 6.5

A dank and juicy IPA using Simpsons Light Malt in the mash for a sweetly smooth body. For the hops, we judiciously bittered with Magnum in the kettle followed by Citra T90 in both the whirlpool and in dry-hopping. The aroma/flavour is fruit-filled, dank and resinous, with plenty of tropical mango, giving a moreish drinkability. Fermented with our house California Ale Yeast for a refreshingly clean finish, this IPA is also our first gluten-free beer using Brewers Clarex®.

Murk-Life Balance 5

A New England – Hazy Pale Ale a using a high proportion of wheat and oats in the grist to add body and aid haze formation. Low bitterness to accentuate a soft mouthfeel and heavily dry-hopped with a blend of juicy hops that impart tropical fruit aromas filled with complex mango, passionfruit and tangerine with a hint of coconut. Fermented with our house yeast, London Fog, for maximum aroma and a slightly sweet finish, it’s a perfectly balanced, smooth and tasty little number.

Retrospect 4.8

A Yorkshire Best Bitter.

Tasting Notes: Golden Promise, Crystal, Cara and Amber Malts provide a smoothly flavourful body while a combination of UK, European and US hops give a floral and moreish flavour & aroma. The beer was finished with a West Yorkshire Ale yeast full of fruity esters and with a dry satisfying finish.

Ringmaster 3.9

A pale in colour session beer brewed with plenty of US hops.

Tasting Notes: The US hops give the beer a floral/grassy aroma and lip smacking citrus flavours which combine with a defined malty character to make a magically moreish and quenching beer.

Ringmaster NZ 3.9

Ringmaster NZ is an all New Zealand hopped version of the pale ale 'Ringmaster' with the same defined malty character but with a deliciously moreish tropical hop character derived from 5 different NZ hop varieties.

Tasting Notes: Expect Passion Fruit, and Lychee on the nose and bright sauvignon-esque Gooesberry flavours on the palate.

Inspired by the traditional German Gose style, and flavoured with gooseberry, sea buckthorn and sea salt.

Tasting Notes: Tart, lightly sour, fruity and refreshing with a defined saltiness an excellent accompaniment to food.

Saucery 3.9

A pale and fruity session IPA, low in strength but high in flavour! Hopped with Citra and Ekuanot, and packed full of tropical fruit and citrus aromas.

Tasting Notes: Full-favoured, with notes of passionfruit and mango; followed by a well balanced, slightly bitter finish on the tongue; making this a supernatural session beer to return to again and again.

Serendipitous 5.9

Ten years ago, on the week of the 10th May 2011, Magic Rock Brewing and Kirkstall Brewery fired up their shiny new brew kits for the first time and created beers that have stood the test of time: Cannonball and Virtuous IPA. Celebrating these first forays into the world of beer, this brew celebrates coincidences, community and comradery.

Tasting Notes: Fusing flavours of both Cannonball and Virtuous, this IPA packs huge citrus and pine flavours with a spruce/resinous finish.

Shredder 4.5

A wheat beer using 50% wheat in the grist, with the addition of zesty coriander seed and curacao orange, lemon peel and mandarin juice for a citrusy finish.

A big aroma full of passionfruit and mango, with a well rounded mouth feel and crisp bitterness as well as a satisfying IPA style depth of flavour.

Ten Magic Years 10

Wow! Ten years since we first fired up the Magic brew kettle, hard to believe, right? We’ve gone back to our roots for this celebratory brew and brewed a homage to the GABF champion DIPA of 2011. A beer with gravity-defying drinkability yet packed full of Citra and Amarillo hops delivering huge mango and citrus. We made ten hop additions and shot for ten percent ABV to keep the theme, one for every year of Magic Rock Brewing. We’d like to take this opportunity to send a massive thank you to all who’ve enjoyed the beers. Cheers!

The Big Top 7.0

A deeply red, raucously hopped showstopper of a beer.

Tasting Notes: A kaleidoscope of speciality malts deliver a sweetly robust yet smooth mouth feel while sack loads of Australian whole hops bring tropical fruit flavours of lychee, papaya and passion fruit. the beer is then dry-hopping with kilo after kilo of those same big and beautifully pungent Aussie hops.

The Magic Spanner 3.9

An invitingly pale and refreshingly crisp ale featuring Golden Promise malt, judiciously hopped with a blend of UK and US hops for a tantalising aroma and satisfying flavour.

Kettle-soured, tropical fruit-Witbier hybrid with flavours of coriander, turmeric, passion fruit and mango.

Un-Human Cannonball ‘takes IPA to another dimension-balancing massive citric aroma, deep tropical fruit flavour and gravity defying drinkability to deliver a hop experience that is out of this world.

Vaudeville 5.9

A twist on the Belgian/French Saison style, a combination of pale/wheat/rye malts in the mash were followed by traditional German hop varieties in the hop back.

Tasting Notes: Delicately spicy, with a fruity aroma and dry finish.

Villainous 6.5

An IPA brewed with 100% Vienna Malt base to give the beer a biscuity malt backbone with a combination of tropically fruity US hops.

Tasting Notes: Mango, papaya, guava, grapefruit & citrus combine for a wickedly juicy flavour filled experience & a fiendishly moreish bitterness.

Vinification 6.1

A deliciously delicate summer wheat ale, perfect for summer drinking. A super pale malt body featuring 50% wheat and 50% extra pale malt allied to a balanced bitterness and mellow Huell Melon hops.
