The Malt Shovel is a charming canalside pub located within the conservation area in Shardlow near Derby. Dating from 1799, the Malt Shovel still retains its original beams and floors which help towards making it a charming village pub. You will enjoy watching all the narrow boats and cruisers pass by, whether sat outside in summer or inside in winter by the warmth of the real fire.

Tasting Notes: Anyway, it has a fascinating aroma, with a palate of biscuit malt, spicy hops and light fruitiness. It was renamed in a staff competition back in George Peard’s day.
