Similar to a mild, it has a drier and slightly burnt flavour from the Roasted Barley. Goldings and Willamette hops provide bittering.
Tasting Notes: Burnt, roasted
Azacca is pale golden in colour, with a zesty mix of tropical fruit dominating both the aroma and flavour.
Tasting Notes: Tropical fruit
Tasting Notes:
A spring and Easter ale, made with chocolate malt, Fuggles and Golding hops. Dark in colour this well balanced beer leaves a lingering taste of bitter chocolate and smooth vanilla.
Tasting Notes: Chocolate, vanilla
Brewed using Lager/Pilsner malts to give a very light beer with citrusy hops and a slight hint of melon. There is also a slightly bitter finish as you would expect with Delilah.
Tasting Notes: Citrus, melon, bitter
Double Maxim was first brewed in 1901 and was initially called Maxim Ale. It was created to celebrate the return of the Maxim Gun detachment from the Boer War.
Tasting Notes: This is a fine example of a North East brown ale. It is a good balance of ripe grain and spicy hops, with a long bittersweet finish. It is now the only true brown ale still brewed in the North East.
Lambtons Beer originally brewed by Vaux in Sunderland, now brewed by The Maxim Brewery. Carefully crafted to blend the finest Maris Otter malt with English Golding & Fuggle hops, this beer is smooth and light.
Tasting Notes: It leaves a lingering flavour of citrus and aroma hops on the palette. Behind its appearance lies a depth of flavour which will appeal to any connoisseur of fine ale.
Brown ale, full and rounded with a slightly sweet aftertaste.
Dark Ruby in colour this beer has a sweet liquorice taste that is warming and easy to drink - beware of its underlying strength.
Tasting Notes: Sweet, liquorice, warming
This blond-coloured beer has been brewed with a floral citrus aroma.
Tasting Notes: Northern Knight has floral citrus aromas, fruity blackcurrant flavours and a smooth, easy-drinking character.
A full-flavoured, golden ale with a light, floral aroma, easy-drinking character and slightly sweet aftertaste.
Tasting Notes: Full flavoured, floral, sweet
The balance, bitterness and aroma is enhanced through the addition of English Golding hops to the main brew and individually to each cask.
Tasting Notes: The result is a beer that delivers a lingering bitterness from the roasted malt on the back of the palate with a deceptively dry finish.
An extreme pale ale made with lager malts to produce a light thirst quenching ale and dry hopped with Amarillo hops to give a blend of tropical fruit flavours.
This smooth blonde beer is very light in colour and uses cascade and first gold hops to give refreshing hoppy and complex grapefruit flavours on the palate.
Tasting Notes: Refreshing, hoppy, grapefruit
Made with lager malt and 4 different hops to give seasonal orange flavours and a floral nose
Tasting Notes: Citrus, floral
Wards Best Bitter is still brewed using the same unique process it has always followed, which involves a secondary fermentation.
Tasting Notes: This is instigated by adding a hopped priming sugar at a late stage in fermentation, giving Wards Best a distinctive malty aftertaste.
A medium strength amber bitter
Tasting Notes: Smell: Light Hop, Citrus, Flowery Taste: Malty, Hoppy, Smooth
