Here at Merchants 1688 we offer the highest quality food, wine and cask ales that Lancaster has to offer, all provided in the relaxed surroundings of our 325 year old wine cellars.

Try our traditional Lancashire pub favourites, exceptional contemporary meals and daily specials or our famous cheese and deli boards.

Our Cask Marque accredited cask ales can be found across 8 pumps and we pride ourselves on supporting local breweries as well as providing the best and latest brews from Lancashire, Cumbria, Yorkshire and beyond.

Our wine selection is possibly the most extensive in all of Lancaster and together in our partnership with local merchant 'Lakeland Vintners' we have created a wine list that caters to every taste and occasion.

We have a beautiful, landscaped beer garden that catches the sun all afternoon long (if the Lancaster weather allows) or three original arched wine cellars that are each tailored to relaxing, dining or socialising with friends depending on what mood takes you.
