Nags Head Inn

A child and dog friendly pub serving food with WiFi and a garden in Nottingham.

The Nags Head Inn is a traditional coaching inn set in the village of Sawley and dates back to the 19th century which operated a horse cab from stables behind the pub. Today locals and travellers can find a traditional English pub that offers home cooked food and real chips at a fair price.

The Nags Head is a Marston's House which prides itself on its outstanding pedigree and has been in Camra's Good Beer Guide in 2013, 2014 and 2015. Combined with friendly and welcoming staff this gives us a winning combination and has made this a firm favorite for the locals and customers from all over the country.

At the Nags Head Inn it retains many of the original features with the lounge having beamed ceilings and a wood burning stove that warms the bar during colder months.

Pedigree 4.5 Marstons

Pedigree. Now with added personality. They haven’t changed the taste. Just how it looks. So welcome to the new-look Pedigree, or “P” as it was first known. Strange that, looking back.

Tasting Notes: Anyway, it has a fascinating aroma, with a palate of biscuit malt, spicy hops and light fruitiness. It was renamed in a staff competition back in George Peard’s day. He was the Head Brewer at the time – that’s him on the clip. Cheers George.
