The Old Monkey, conveniently situated in Manchester City Centre, is a fantastic traditional pub that serves a full range of Joseph Holt cask ales, a wide range of whiskies and great food. Perfectly situated in the heart of Manchester, it is across the road from the Gay Village and minutes away from Chinatown and is surrounded by hotels, convenience stores and transport links. A definite must if you're visiting the city.

The Old Monkey is also home to Trapdoor Comedy Presents which runs monthly comedy nights with acts from shows such as Never Mind The Buzzcocks and Mock The Week.

The Old Monkey caters for all types of functions and parties with free-hire and a PA system for hosting Quiz Nights.

Joseph Holt 1849 is a complex blend of choice malts and hops. A traditional ale, 1849 is great served with meat and cheese dishes.

Every bottle of Becks is brewed according to the uncompromising German Reinheitsgebot (Purity law). With a strong and committed heritage, Becks has had only 6 brew masters throughout a 125 year history.

Tasting Notes: Our original Becks is a classic German lager beer with a distinctive full-bodied taste, fresh "hoppy" bouquet, golden colour and a full rich head. Adding to its complexity is a slightly fruity but firm crispness and a dry, clean finish.

Holsten Pils 4.8 Carlsberg UK Ltd

Holsten was first developed and produced in Northern Germany in 1953. Since then it has expanded to many other markets, primarily in Europe, and today you can experience the great taste of Holsten Pils in many countries around the world.

Tasting Notes: Holsten Pils is a pale blonde German Pilsner from Hamburg, with a sweet earthy lemony aroma, hoppy malty flavour and a soft lingering finish.

2011 saw the introduction of our IPA, which has proved to be very popular in both Free Trade and the selected Joseph Holt pubs that stock it.

Tasting Notes: Our IPA is a very pale, traditional, English ale with relatively high bitterness and a fragrant hop aroma. It is brewed with traditional East Kent Goldings and Slovenian Styrian Goldings.

Joseph Holt Two Hoots Golden Ale is a light, refreshing and beautifully balanced golden ale. Brewed with pale ale and lager malts and Cascade whole hops. Two Hoots bagged a gold medal at the Brussels Beer Challenge and was also regional winner of Sainsbury’s Great British Beer Hunt.
