This famous 18th Century freehouse – previously known as The Ship Inn and Smugglers Restaurant – has been completely renovated and extended to offer just the right atmosphere you would want and expect in a quality gastro inn. Not only will the roaring fire, comfy armchairs, and wide choice of cask ales attract those wanting an enjoyable pint but the pub is also offering a traditional menu using locally sourced produce. Adnams Southwold Bitter 3.7 Adnams

Southwold Bitter is a beautiful copper-coloured beer, late and dry-hopped with Fuggles for a distinctive, lingering hoppiness. Brewed with the finest East Anglian Pale Ale malt barley, sourced locally to the brewery. We use Fuggles hops which we add late in the boil to preserve the herbal flavours of this traditional English hop. We add more Fuggles to each cask so that the flavour of the hops infuses into the beer. It’s a perfect 3.7% abv in cask and 4.1% abv in bottle and can.
