Under new management since 2014, The Alexandra is a traditional English pub offering a warm & relaxed environment, great homemade food & en-suite accommodation.

The Alexandra has comfortable en-suite accommodation available as well as offering a menu of fresh, homemade dishes, live sports, poker nights, pool table, quiz nights, live music, a jukebox and more!

Our menu is a mix of both British pub classics & traditional Italian food at great value for money so you can enjoy quality cuisine without breaking the bank!

Located just 5 minutes’ walk from the main train station & even less from the town centre, The Alexandra’s welcoming atmosphere & beautiful beer garden, make it the perfect place to meet with friends & family of all ages.

Doom Bar is a perfectly balanced beer combining subtle yet complex flavours, Doom Bar is both satisfying and deliciously moreish. Tasting Notes: “The aroma of Doom Bar combines an accomplished balance of spicy resinous hop, inviting sweet malt and delicate roasted notes. The mouth feel is a perfectly balanced and complex blend of succulent dried fruit, lightly roasted malty notes and a subtle yet assertive bitterness. The bitterness remains into the finish with dry fruity notes which implore the drinker to go back for more.” Stuart Howe, Head Brewer.

The Alex is proud to offer two en-suite double rooms & one en-suite twin room - each with it's own individual style and character. All three rooms have tea & coffee facilities, free Wi-Fi, a flat screen TV with Freeview and a DVD player, along with a complimentary hospitality tray and toiletries. An iron & ironing board are also available on request. Located just 5 minutes’ walk from the main train station & even less from the town centre, The Alexandra’s welcoming atmosphere & beautiful beer garden, make it the perfect place to meet with friends & family of all ages. If you’re looking for a great night out with a lively atmosphere, The Alexandra have it covered with performances from talented live musicians every weekend! The menu is a mix of both British pub classics & traditional Italian food at great value for money so you can enjoy quality cuisine without breaking the bank! During their stay, guests booked into the accommodation at The Alexandra enjoy a 20% discount on any meals purchased at the bar. Breakfast must be pre-ordered the night before and it is normally served from 8am Tuesday to Friday and from 9am on Saturday & Sunday. We look forward to welcoming you at the Alex Soon.

A non-refundable deposit of 10% will be taken from the supplied credit/debit card in order to secure your booking.

Cancellation charges are as follows:
2 weeks or less = 50% of total booking, 24 hours or less = 100% of total booking.

All food orders must be received no later than 48 hours before the event.
