The Black Horse Inn

A pub serving food with Sky TV in Gainsborough.

he Black Horse Inn has been a village pub for over 250 years old, situated on the A159 in the village of Blyton, around four miles from Gainsborough and some ten miles from Scunthorpe. In the last two years, it has been given new lease of life with a major building project, where great care has been taken to revitalise the Inn to a traditional public house. This has helped to cement its reputation as a popular place in the community with a well stocked bar and a good selection of award winning cask ales available. Background music plays during the day while the mood in the evening depends on the day of the week. Brands on offer are John Smith’s Bitter, a selection of four Cask Ales, Carling, Fosters, San Miguel, Strongbow, Thatchers Gold, Old Rosie and Guinness. Outside, there is a Beer Garden and Patio Areas which are lovely sun traps during the summer months. In the public bar area Sky Sports, BoxNation, ESPN, BT Sports, Free Wi-Fi and traditional pub games are available.

Drink % Brewery
Batemans XB 3.7 Batemans Brewery

Classic amber, English pale ale crafted by the fusion of luscious English Golding and Challenger hops with crisp Lincolnshire pale and chocolate malts, slowly matured to create a grainy, quaffable beer

Tasting Notes:

Carling 4.1 Carling

Carling has been Britain’s best selling lager for more than three decades. It is brewed to have the perfect balance of sweetness & bitterness ensuring it is as brilliantly refreshing from the first sip to the last.

Tasting Notes: Carling has been skilfully brewed using lightly kilned British malts, aromatic hops and Carling's unique yeast to create a malty, sweet flavour, balanced with a hoppy ''clean flavoured'' bitterness and the aroma of freshly harvested grain.

Guinness Extra Cold 4.2 Guinness

Black as the night with a creamy tan head with a coffee and mild roasted aroma and flavour. Medium (light) bodied and a soft carbonation, a real mellow sweetness.

Tasting Notes:

Guinness Original 4.2 Guinness

Swirling clouds tumble as the storm begins to calm.

Tasting Notes: Unmistakeably GUINNESS®, from the first velvet sip to the last, lingering drop. And every deep-dark satisfying mouthful in between.

San Miguel 5.0 San Miguel Brewery Inc.

The unique recipe and San Miguel yeast come together to deliver a refreshing, full bodied beer with a great taste. San Miguel is a pilsner style lager, inspired by the Spanish way of life.

Tasting Notes: San Miguel has a hoppy, citrus, fresh bitter / citrus hoppy–sweet/fruity taste.
