Gunboat Smith is a tribute not only to one of the original Head Brewers but also to the strong black porter style of beer on which Old Truman’s success was built. Tasting Notes: This is our take on the old recipe using modern techniques and hops. Deception in a glass, this beer pours black as night but has the punch of US IPA hops. The dark roasted malts bring chocolate and coffee, as you'd expect from a Porter, but the combination of American hops; Bravo and Columbus; give an underlying piney resinous hit.
