A land mark Chrolton pub, only a few miles from the famous Old Trafford Stadium The Horse & Jockey will not disappoint.

A family-friendly pub and restaurant in the heart of Chorlton, serving real-ales and seasonal, freshly made food, the Horse and Jockey boasts all of these things plus a the fine location overlooking Chorlton's leafy Green.

Horse and Jockey houses a bright and airy restaurant, its own brewery and a child-friendly and dog-friendly pub. All housed in a picturesque Tudor building with open fires in winter and a large sun-trap of a beer garden in summer. They also host a programme of free events throughout the year. From open-air concerts on the Green to the monthly farmers' & craft markets most events are free and everyone is welcome.

The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly coupled with an extensive and affordable menu of drinks and delicious food.

Launched in April 2006 for the UK market. Brewed in Bremen, but packaged in the UK. "The Vier brand, whose German name translates as "four", is being positioned at the top end of the standard lager sector.

Tasting Notes: Beck’s Vier is a 4% pilsner lager brewed with the same uncompromising approach to quality and authenticity as Beck’s. Imported from Bremen, Germany, Beck’s Vier is brewed with precision to the Reinheitsgebot purity law, which ensures that only four pure ingredients are ever involved. This unique blend of golden barley, Bavarian hops, pure glacier water and unique yeast gives Beck’s Vier its clean, crisp, full bodied taste and exceptional refreshment.

Brewing beer is a 100% natural process. Heineken beer is made from the purest ingredients.

Tasting Notes: The resin from the female hop flower cones is used to help balance the sweetness of the barley with a refreshing bitterness.

Joseph Holt Bitter 4.0 Joseph Holt Ltd

The beer that made us famous, our Joseph Holt Bitter. Pours a deep amber with a creamy head encompassing full bitterness with a dry malt base.

Tasting Notes: A full drinking and original cask bitter that is rich in both colour and taste. Pours a clear amber, almost ruby, colour with creamy white head. It has a mild fruity and woody aroma, with berry undertones. Drinks smooth with a woody, malty and slightly peppery taste with a hint of floral hops.

Joseph Holt IPA 3.8 Joseph Holt Ltd

2011 saw the introduction of our IPA, which has proved to be very popular in both Free Trade and the selected Joseph Holt pubs that stock it.

Tasting Notes: Our IPA is a very pale, traditional, English ale with relatively high bitterness and a fragrant hop aroma. It is brewed with traditional East Kent Goldings and Slovenian Styrian Goldings.
