The Lord Nelson is on the corner of St James Lane and Flying Horse Lane in the heart of the historically important town of Dover, close to the seafront and by the little known River Dour which runs from Wellington Docks and the town centre, via the lovely Kearsney Abbey gardens, to Temple Ewell. A signposted four mile walking trail along the river is a great way to spend an afternoon, with the Lord Nelson making an ideal refreshment stop.
The Lord Nelson is a large friendly family-run pub, with wooden floors and traditional furnishing, and a sunny conservatory at the back.
