The Millstream

A child friendly pub serving food with Sky TV in Hertford.

The Millstream is a family run Public House where customers are warmly welcomed by friendly staff. Originally a 19th Century Ale House, it offers a large picturesque country garden and a restaurant. The restaurant is ideal for hosting functions and small events from 40 seated and 80 standing.

Our restaurant menu ranges from traditional Billingsgate fresh fish and chips to homemade lasagnas. Our kitchen uses locally sourced produce from farms in and around the area, wherever possible. Together with our range of fine wines, beers and extensive range of spirits it makes for a pleasurable visit.

Restaurant bookings are highly advisable especially at weekends. We welcome walk-ins and will accommodate them as best as possible. We pride ourselves on being a family pub where dogs on leads are welcome but not permitted in the restaurant area. We look forward to seeing you.

Hertford Castle Ale 5.0 McMullens - DO NOT USE

A fine brew from McMullen at The Whole Hop Brewery, combining natural whole leaf arome hops, best Suffolk malted barley and McMullen’s own pure spring water.

Tasting Notes: Late hopping adds a subtlety to the traditional recipe, creating a truly distinctive taste for the ale connoisseur.

McMullen AK 3.7 McMullens - DO NOT USE

As one of the longest established ales in the UK, the quality of AK comes from 180 years of brewing experience at The Whole Hop Brewery

Tasting Notes: This award-winning bitter uses a carefully balanced mixture of pale ale and chocolate malts to give a soft malty taste, while WGV hops give a light fragrant aroma and clean finish. A popular and refreshing easy-drinking bitter.

McMullen Cask Ale 3.8 McMullens - DO NOT USE

This ale is inspired from over 180 years of brewing at The Whole Hop Brewery. Styrian Goldings added to English Fuggle hops achieve a refreshingly well-balanced combination.

Tasting Notes: The subtle biscuity flavour comes from pale ale and amber malts. Mixed with the citrus flavours of these hops, this creates a light and refreshing ale that all generations of ale drinkers will enjoy.

McMullen Country Bitter 4.3 McMullens - DO NOT USE

The Head Brewer has combined the finest East Anglian Ale malted barley with a subtle blend of Crystal Malt and Caramalt with McMullen’s own pure spring water.

Tasting Notes: The addition of whole leaf Fuggle, Bramling Cross and Golding Hops at different stages of the brewing process gives a golden bitter with hints of citrus and spicy berries for a well balanced beer.
